The importance of Squats for men…

Squat Strength

Squats are one of very few moves that I would recommend to just about anyone that doesn’t have a bad back or knees. Why? Because there are so many benefits just from doing squats and similar exercises that I can bet you didn’t know them all. Click below to see them!

1. Builds Muscle…
Now, for those of you that are trying to build muscle, squats are the way forward. Squats obviously help build your leg muscles (Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Calves and Glutes), but they help build muscle all over your body as well. The way they go about this is by releasing testosterone and HGH (Human Growth Hormone) into the body when the exercise is performed correctly. These are vital for muscle growth and will help improve your muscle mass when you train other parts of your body, not just legs.

2. Functional Training…
Functional exercises are those that help your body perform real-life activities, as opposed to simply being able to operate gym equipment. Squats are one of the best functional exercises out there, as humans have been squatting since the first steps were taken. Think about it, every time you sit down on to a chair, stand up off the chair, you’re performing half a squat. When you perform squats, you build muscle and help your muscles work more efficiently as well as promote mobility, flexibility and balance, all of these benefits translate into your body moving efficiently in real world situations too.

3. Boost Your Sports Performance…
Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a dad chasing after a toddler, you’ll be interested to know that studies have linked squatting strength with athletic ability. Specifically, squatting helps athletes run faster and jump higher, which is why this exercise is part of almost every professional athlete’s training program.
